Da U.A. – WOW, we get asked that all the time… To be honest with you , what does a HIP HOP artist look like, you really can’t tell , when we were sitting around talking we tried to come up with a name, nothing was working… we looked at each other, was like man we look like some Unknown Artists, and a cd we were listening to came up as Unknown Artists, that was it… that’s how th name was created and born.. Da Unknown Artists AKA DA U.A. WAS BORN.

Nahila S – When and how was the group DA U.A. born?

Da U.A. – The Group Da U.A. was born in 2005. Here at my House lol We were in my music room listening to some music, and we were listening to instrumentals in the the room, we started freestyling, we were like dude we might have something, the chemistry was like magic. What do we have to lose, everybody around us where doing there thing, I was like we gotta put our hat in the Game… The Rest is History.

Nahila S – How would you define the group? what kind of messages do you try to pass on through your music?

Da U.A. – I would define our music as raw and pure sub-conscious underground hip hop. The message we try to bring in our music, is that everyone can relate to that message, we are trying to spread Good music to people all over the world, yes we might be from the Lone Star State (Texas). The message needs to be heard on a global level, just from living overseas, music is more appreciated overseas and the hip hop culture is big overseas. Shout Out To The Netherlands for Supporting Da U.A.

Nahila S – What is your vision of the Hip Hop scene today?

Da U.A. – To be honest with you, How Can You Define The Hip Hop Scene Today? The Culture Has Changed a lot, the music doesn’t have substance to it, The Radio, Label Execs, are the blame for some of the stuff being played on mainstream radio… Some of the best music to me is underground hip hop there is really no filter on that type of Hip Hop. Mainstream Hip Hop not sure where it is going…. It’s not the same hip hop being played on the radio now compared to Hip Hop 20 years ago… I hope Real Live Hip Hop comes back around… soon very soon.

Nahila S – What does your passion for music bring you?

Da U.A. – Our Passion for Music is We love making good music… And We Always say that when the music stops being fun , we are going to stop rhyming and be fans of the Music…. Just that plain and simple. You gotta love what you do, but the most important thing is you gotta have love for the music and the culture…

Nahila S – What are your upcoming projects?

Da U.A. – We are working on the new album, Da U.A. Presents Still Humbled, We are working with our brother out of Jacksonville, Arkansas – Producer Amazin’, then we are working with our brother over in France, Kat named Voodoo for Voodoo Music we are doing some things with him, then we are doing some collaborations with different artists in the local area, New Jersey, Arkansas, North Carolina and France.

Nahila S – As a conclusion, what message would you like to pass on to someone willing to start MCing today?

Da U.A. – This a great question you ask, I would tell anybody who was willing to become a mc, stay true to who you are, be ya own person, Don’t let anybody influence you to do something that don’t fit your personality or question who you are as a individual , always stay true to ya self , and to the hip hop culture… Always.
